Banksy is an artist playing chess when everyone else is playing checkers. The anonymous pop culture provocateur’s latest project is the Walled Off Hotel. The fully operational hotel and art gallery in the picturesque West Bank city of Bethlehem bills itself as the hotel with the “worst view in the world.”

And, in true Banksy fashion, it doesn’t disappoint. Nearly every window from the Walled Off Hotel opens up to a 30-foot wall of concrete. The interior is lined with mostly Banksy originals such as an Israeli soldier pillow fighting with a masked Palestinian above one of the beds to the the cherubs on life support hanging above the player piano.

According to Banksy’s website, every night, the lounge and bar will host a mechanical, remote controlled piano concert. Sir Elton John “played” the opening night party (see below) and will be followed by a host of other A-list acts including: Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, Hans Zimmer, Flea, and Massive Attack’s 3D, who will be the first artist in residence.

Banksy’s Walled Off Hotel will begin taking reservations on March 11. Find more info HERE.
