Talk about really, really wanting to keep your landscape trimmed.
I’ve never lived in a state where tornados are a thing, as the closes I’ve ever come to that are tropical storms. But even with a tropical store there is no way in hell I’m going outside as I will stay buried away in my home. But don’t tell that to this guy who was all about mowing his lawn even while a tornado was behind him.
The incredible photo below, shared on Facebook by Cecilia Wessels, shows Cecilia’s husband Theunis mowing the lawn to his home in Alberta all while a giant tornado is behind him. Cecilia tells the Times Colonist that she took a nap while her husband started to mow, but was woken by her nine-year-old daughter who was upset that there was tornado in the sky, but her father wouldn’t come inside.
Well, take a look at what Cecilia saw when she checked on her husband.
Holy hell.
“I literally took the picture to show my mum and dad in South Africa, ‘Look there’s a tornado,’ and now everyone is like, ‘Why is your husband mowing the lawn?’” Cecilia said. “Our whole street, everyone was on their back patios taking pictures.”
Um, why? I would be in my basement reading water-stained Archie comics by flashlight.
“It looks much closer if you look in the photo, but it was really far away,” Theunis said. “Well, not really far, far away, but it was far away from us. I was keeping an eye on it.”
So far there have no been no reported injuries from the tornado. And hey, I wonder if Theunis would be out there mowing the lawn if this was the scene:
