Here I was thinking that people who choose smooth butter over crunchy butter were monsters, but now they are saints when compared to people who actually eat a peanut butter and pickle sandwich. And yes, that’s a real thing suggested by one of the biggest newspapers in the country.

Just look at what the New York Times tweeted:

“Consider this less a recipe, more of a prod in a direction that you never considered.”

Some backstory behind this: Dwight Garner, a NYT book critic considered this sandwich his favorite, so the NYT just suggested it.

And this is how they described it:

“The vinegary snap of the pickles tempers the unctuousness of the peanut butter, and it’s an unusual pantry sandwich for when luncheon meats leave you cold.”

And now Twitter chimed in with their opinions:

What do you think? Would you taste this atrocity? Or is smooth peanut butter bad enough for you?
