Mandatory Hack: The Genius Shortcut For Thawing Frozen Windshields Quickly

Managing the freezing cold does not come naturally to some of us because we have zero experience with it. So hacks for having to beat frigid weather are kind of essential. However, even if you’re the King of the Arctic Tundra you can always use another hack for beating the bone-chilling cold and all of the obstacles it creates. That’s why we love this clutch genius shortcut from TikTok user @andrewh.7 for defrosting frozen windshields in a cinch.

What You’ll Need

  • Ziplock bag
  • Hot water
  • Frozen car windows

To perform this feat of greatness you’re going to need a Ziplock bag or a bag strong enough to carry hot water in it. Then let the water in the sink get hot. Once it’s hot, you can fill your Ziplock bag. If you ball hard, leave the bag open, but if you like the play it safe, zip it up. Then carry that bag through from your kitchen, through your house, outside where your sad car sits waiting for you to do what you do to dethaw its window.

Take that bag and run it down your windshield and presto, the frost thaws immediately, and it’s instantly thawed. Word to the wise, use the bigger Ziplock bag, it covers more surface area and will take half the time of the lunch-sized ones.
