You have the corn sweetness of bourbon and the savory, salty flavor of bacon. They combine to make a perfect flavor experience. The only thing that could make the two even better would be a burger slathered in bourbon bacon jam. Luckily, there’s a burger chain where this boozy, salty fever dream is actually a reality.

This is because everyone’s favorite burger chain, Shake Shack, just launched two different menu items featuring this Kentucky-centric condiment. They are the Bourbon Bacon Cheddar Burgers and Bourbon Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich. Whether you enjoy beef, chicken, or both, these sandwiches are now available for only $8 at every Shake Shack location throughout the country.

The bourbon bacon jam that covers these unique sandwiches is made with Maker’s Mark bourbon. This means your chicken sandwich or burgers will have both the caramel, vanilla, and oaky flavors of the iconic whiskey as well the salty, savory, hardwood applewood bacon that was smoked for six hours. It’s smoky, sweet, and delicious. What could be better?

The Bourbon Bacon Cheddar Burger, on top of being topped with bourbon bacon jam, is made with 100% Angus beef, crispy shallots, Shacksauce, and white cheddar all on a toasted potato bun. The Bourbon Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich starts with a crispy, white meat chicken breast patty that’s covered with white cheddar cheese, and slathered with bourbon bacon jam, all on a toasted potato bun.

Honestly, they had us at bacon and bourbon. While we’re totally on board for a bourbon bacon jam-centric burger and chicken sandwich, we’d probably show up and throw our money at them if they simply poured bourbon on top of a regular burger. That’s good eating!
