Fans Boo New McDonald’s Boo Bucket 2024 Designs

McDonald’s Boo Buckets are back for Halloween 2024, but fans aren’t happy with the redesign. The generic monster design is being criticized, as is the fake lid. Many are disappointed at the product’s decline and have taken to social media to make their feelings known.

New McDonald’s Boo Bucket designs too generic for some fans

McDonald’s Boo Buckets originally premiered as Halloween Pails in 1986. The buckets were available sporadically between 1986 and 2016, when they were put on a more permanent hiatus. Six years later, in 2022, the restaurant brought them back and made them available again in 2023 and 2024.

Compared to the current Boo Buckets, McDonald’s older Halloween Pails were of higher quality. They were bigger and came with plastic lids to seal the container. Despite the lower quality, fans were excited to see the buckets return, and the choice of monsters, which included a mummy, skeleton, vampire, and Frankenstein last year, was a hit.

Unfortunately, this year, McDonald’s decided to go with four generic monster designs in white, orange, green, and blue. In addition to the much-maligned fake lids, each bucket comes with a sticker sheet that can be used to customize the container. They’ll be available for purchase starting on October 15 and can be ordered in person or through the McDonald’s app. Note that pricing will vary between markets and hasn’t been revealed yet.

Fans have expressed nostalgia for the original pails and believe that the new designs lack the charm and creativity of the originals. With the generic monsters, many feel that McDonald’s missed an opportunity to rekindle the magic that made the Halloween Pails a beloved tradition.
