Google is Testing a Wide Variety of New Gmail Features, Including a Snooze Button

Google is reportedly testing out a variety of new features for Gmail, including a snooze button which will ensure important emails aren’t lost within your inbox.

According to Geek.com, an updated UI for Gmail will introduce new tabs to go alongside the Social/Promotion/Forum/Updates tabs that are already in place. These include Travel, Purchases and Finance, with the latter two allowing users to organize their receipts, banking information and more.

Perhaps the most useful new feature, though, is the aforementioned ability to leave an email on “snooze”, which essentially pins the email in your inbox and ensures that it doesn’t drop down beneath of sea of other, less important emails.

Pinning emails means that you’ll no longer need to shuffle through your inbox to find an email with an important date or address on it, as it’ll remain at the top of your inbox until you eventually unpin it.

The above screenshots are said to be the results of Google trying out these new Gmail features, so when the UI update rolls out it may not look the same as what you’re seeing here. There’s no word yet on when this reported UI update will be released.
