Facebook has revealed an incredible selection of stats about the social networking site and just how much we use it.
After stating that the site had doubled its profits over last quarter, raking in $788 million in Q2 2014, the company also indicated just how much time is spent on the site, and how much content is produced on the social network in the space of a minute.
Here’s a rundown of how much content is uploaded to/produced on the site every 60 seconds:
- 82,000 status updates
- 135,000 photos uploaded
- 98,000 friend requests
- 231,000 messages
- 79,000 wall posts
- 74,000 event invites
In total, that’s 1,591,000 actions that are completed on the site every minute. These figures should certainly spite those who speculated that Facebook was on its way out.
Facebook has also now reached 1.32 billion monthly users. To put that in context, China’s population is 1.5 billion. Congratulations, Mr. Zuckerberg.
