CES 2016: Smart-Rhino Brings Miami Style to Mobility with Xcooter

We predicted that personal mobility would be a surprisingly big section at CES 2016, and yet another player appeared on the pitch this week to keep that prediction hot.

Smart-Rhino, a Miami bases electronics producer, rolled out the Xcooter – a modern, folding electric scooter at CES this week. The Whether on two wheels or three, these small, fold-up, electric, rechargeable scooters are popping out of every corner of the U.S. – making for what should be a very competitive market in 2016.

The Xcooter uses a full aluminum a patented body folding system that wraps up the scooter in one second for quick, easy carrying and storing.

On one four hour charge, the Xcooter promises a maximum range of 15 miles. The scooter also clocks the fastest top speed of any such vehicle I’m seeing at CES at 17 mph pumping out of the 36 volt, brushless electric motor.

The Xcooter includes a full LCD display with speed and range indicators, a rear disc brake, 10 inch wheels, a front LED headlight and a weight of 41.8 pounds. Unlike early entrants in the scooter market, Xcooter offers some personalization with four colors — pink, black, white and green.

While not yet available, the Xcooter is currently on pre-sale. Buyers can schedule its arrival for $1499 through March 2015. As of April 1, the retail price climbs to the final $1799.
