Super Bowl Streetwear | Commemorate The Big Game With No Roman Numerals

Super Bowl 50 has a victor, the Denver Broncos. What it didn’t have was roman numerals in this year’s logo. While watching the game, or just waiting for the commercials, if you noticed something didn’t look quite right, you were being passively observant of a big change on the field.

Taking center stage at the 50 yard line is always the namesake of the showdown, and it gets an update every year to reflect where we are in the tradition. 2015’s “Super Bowl XLIX” should have been followed by “Super Bowl L”, but the team working on the art (for the past 2 years, mind you), decided to nix the Roman numerals and instead go with the Arabic version.

The folks designing the program obviously weren’t the only ones to run with the sleek looking “Super Bowl 50” design, and to celebrate the big game going down in one of America’s favorite cities, San Francisco, two hometown streetwear brands decided to get together.

’47 has long been the spot to get stylish, high quality goods all in the name of your favorite team. What’s new to their product offering right now is the SB50 Boutique. ’47 partnered with both Benny Gold and Blvck Scvle to create some wearable collector items. The one-of-a-kind capsule collection was only made in limited quantities, and will only available for a very limited time.

Next year, we’re back to the nostalgic iteration of the Super Bowl logo, and the Roman numerals will be back. Super Bowl LI, bring it on.
