By now, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve finished the fourth season of Stranger Things. That’s even with the ridiculous length of each episode (particularly the finale). Even if you haven’t had time yet, you won’t hear spoilers from us in this article (at least not plot-related). Unless you don’t want us to spoil the included music for you.

In that case, go finish the season and then come back and read this article because we’re going to take a look at the music that makes the show what it is. This music is almost as important as the story and the characters themselves in creating the atmosphere.

If you’re a fan of ’80s movies like The Goonies, ET, Poltergeist, and countless other movies, Stranger Things is a nostalgic treasure trove. But on top of simply being influenced by some of our favorite films from the 1980s both in appearance and storyline (as well as setting), this ridiculously popular Netflix show also has a pretty killer soundtrack featuring some of the most iconic songs from the ’70s and ’80s.

Since the show takes place in the ’80s, we’ll leave out the music that was produced in the ’70s (even though much of it is equally awesome and noteworthy) and instead highlight the nostalgic 1980s tunes that have stood out during the first four seasons of this show.

Below, you’ll find our favorite 1980s songs from the first four seasons of Stranger Things. The songs we picked are from myriad well-known artists and each and every song has added to particular scenes and helped crank the nostalgia up to 11. Even thinking about them makes us want to cancel work for the rest of the week and start binging the show again from start to finish. Keep scrolling and see if you don’t think about playing hooky from work and joining us.
