Pizza Hut just became the best damn pizza place in the world because of their app. See that image above? That’s what employees on the other side saw when a woman and her kids, who were being held hostage by her boyfriend, sent through a desperate dinner order.
She used the comments section in the order process to cleverly and deftly send not one, but two clear cries for help. Her captor was preventing her from calling or texting, and immediately snatched the phone from her after she “ordered some pizza”.
That’s one hell of a genius use of technology, is it not? How calm and collected do you think one might have to be in a potentially disastrous domestic abuse scenario to think of using a pizza delivery app for rescue?
It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “There’s an app for that.”
Authorities arrived on the scene, thanks to perceptive Pizza Hut workers, and no harm befell either the woman or her children. The knife-wielding boyfriend was dealt with promptly after being talked into surrendering. Isn’t technology great sometimes?
