Batman: The Killing Joke is hitting digital HD this week, and with it comes the first look at DC’s next direct-to-video animated film: Justice League Dark!
Warner Bros. has teased a potential Justice League Dark feature film for years, but the unlikely team of DC’s magically empowered superheroes is getting their first shot together in an animated feature. For this film, the JLD consists of John Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, Swamp Thing, the Demon, Black Orchid…and Batman?! Because everything must have Batman in order to get a greenlight.
The JLD bonus feature video was leaked ahead of Batman: The Killing Joke‘s official release, and it reveals that TV’s John Constantine, Matt Ryan is reprising his role for this story, alongside Camilla Luddington as Zatanna, Nucholas Turturro as Deadman, and Ray Chase as the Demon. Jason O’Mara is reprising his role as Batman from the New 52 inspired movies, and several other members of the primary Justice League will apparently be in the film as well.

There are currently no firm plans for the Justice League Dark live-action movie, but this animated feature will probably be used to gauge the interest of the audience. Thanks to the short-lived Constantine TV series and his subsequent appearance on Arrow, the character John Constantine has had the most exposure with the general public since the feature film starring Keanu Reeves. Whether that will be enough to greenlight a Justice League Dark franchise remains to be seen.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release the Justice League Dark animated film this fall.
