From blockbuster dramas, such as Lethal Weapon, to the season’s most irreverent new comedies, like Son of Zorn, City’s fall schedule has something for every Canadian TV lover this fall.
The network is boasting four new series, two new musical specials, 16 returning hits, and some of fall’s biggest sporting events. It all begins on Thursday, September 15th on with Thursday Night NFL.
Based on the hit movie franchise of the same name, Lethal Weapon tells the story of classic cop duo Riggs and Murtaugh, as they work in modern-day Los Angeles. Grief-stricken after the loss of his young wife and unborn child, ex-Navy SEAL-turned-detective Martin Riggs moves to California to start over at the LAPD. He’s paired up with Roger Murtaugh, who’s just coming back to the job after a near-fatal heart attack, and his penchant for diving headfirst into the line of fire immediately clashes with Murtaugh’s prudent, by-the-book technique. It stars Clayne Crawford (Rectify) and Emmy Award nominee Damon Wayans (My Wife and Kids, In Living Color).
Additional returning television events include CMA Country Christmas, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, and the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards (premiere dates to be announced at a later date).
