Exclusive Preview | ‘Justice League of America’ # 9

Before the era of DC Rebirth began, writer and artist Bryan Hitch brought the Justice League of America together of an epic story that has been on hold for a few months. But Justice League of America # 9 is hitting this week, and things don’t look good for the League!

The Kryptonian God known as Rao has come to Earth and converted millions into his faithful followers. Unfortunately for humanity, the Justice League has realized Rao’s less-than altruistic agenda and failed to stop him at every turn. Superman went at Rao with the full might of his powers, and even had an assist from Wonder Woman and Aquaman. But it wasn’t enough, and now the Man of Steel is seemingly dead!

It hasn’t been any easier for Green Lantern Hal Jordan, as he found himself on ancient Krypton meeting with Rao eons before he became a conqueror. Even in the past, Jordan couldn’t escape Rao’s reache as the Rao from the present also traveled back and rendered Green Lantern’s ring powerless.

In CraveOnline’s exclusive preview for Justice League of America # 9, we check in with the Flash and Green Lantern, as the Rao of the past reacts to his future self’s actions.

For this issue, Hitch is joined by inker Daniel Henrgues, and colorist Alex Sinclair. Hitch and Sinclair drew and colored the main cover, while the Batman v Superman variant cover was by Jim Lee and Sinclair. Here’s DC’s description of the issue:

“With Earth as collateral damage, the Kryptonian deity called Rao has the Justice League on the ropes! It would take a miracle to defeat him. Good thing the League makes miracles look easy…”

Justice League of America # 9 will be released on Wednesday, August 31 in comic book stores everywhere.
