Kid Almost Flies Off Texas Roller Coaster After Seat Belt Breaks

I’m not a fan of heights, so naturally I’m not a fan of roller coasters at all. That being said, if I ever found myself on a roller coaster I would prefer one with working seat belts. But hey, that’s just me. And I’m sure Delbert Latham and his son also prefer rides with seat belts, because Delbert’s son almost flew off a roller coaster when his came undone.

The incident occurred at Wonderland Amusement Park in Amarillo. What started off as nice bonding between father and son ended up as a terrifying moment for both, as Latham had to make sure his son didn’t slip off the ride. But don’t worry, he was able to hold on to his phone and record it all, too. Check out the video below posted on Latham’s Facebook:

Since the video has gone viral, Wonderland Amusement Park has released a statement: “Wonderland immediately reached back out to Mr. Latham the evening it happened and promptly removed the back cart from the ride and ensured all other seat belts were in proper working order. The Mouse Trap was back in full operation on Saturday.”

[Flash forward 10 years.]

“Hey dad, remember that time I almost flew off the roller coaster? Good times.”
