This week, a long underutilized comic book hero is getting a massive comeback in Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye # 1, one of the first wave of titles from DC’s Young Animal line!
Musician and comic book writer, Gerard Way is spearheading the Young Animal line, and co-writing the new Cave Carson series with Jon Rivera alongside artist Michael Avon Oeming. And just as the title suggests, Cave really does have a cybernetic eye. France Herron and Bruno Premiani created Cave back in 1960 as one DC’s sci-fi heroes. In his original adventures, Cave had his own team of explorers who went on fantastic adventures beneath the Earth’s surface.
The new series takes place in the modern day, long after Cave has seemingly moved beyond his life of discovery and adventure. He got married, and had a daughter named Chloe. Now, Cave is a widower, and his daughter is in college. And both surviving Carsons are about to be pulled back into a life that they thought they had left behind. But there’s no retirement from this line of work!
