Over twenty five years ago, in the final episode of Twin Peaks, Kyle MacLaclan’s Special Agent Dale Cooper didn’t get out of the Black Lodge intact. His body returned to Earth, but his soul remained trapped. And in his place, Demon Bob took over Cooper’s body and…we don’t know what happened afterwards. That’s the downside of such a swift cancellation: no closure.
While we still don’t know how or even if Cooper escaped that escaped that fate, MacLaclan was one of the first original cast members to sign on for the Twin Peaks revival series by David Lynch and Mark Frost. And in a newly released promo video for the new season, MacLaclan was looking very non-Bob…or was he? After all, don’t you think that Bob would find a way to blend in with his surroundings? For all we know, Cooper has been Bob for the last quarter century!

The maddening thing is that we may not even get a definitive answer out of this series. Lynch never neatly tied up his plots and mysteries before, so why should he stop now?
It was recently announced that Twin Peaks will premiere on Sunday, May 21 with two back-to-back episodes on Showtime. Showtime will also debut the third and fourth episodes of the revival on Showtime Anytime and Showtime On Demand immediately after the second episode wraps up. Those episodes will have encore showings on Sunday, May 28, before the series shifts to a one-per-week schedule.
