‘La La Land: In Concert’ Is Coming To Australia This Year

The film which ~almost~ won the 2016 Oscar for Best Picture, La La Land, is coming to Australia in concert form this year, for two debut Aussie performances.

‘La La Land: In Concert’ will make its Aussie debut this December, with the 100-piece Sydney Symphony Orchestra set to perform composer Justin Hurwitz’s Oscar-winning score from the film live at the Sydney Opera House, as the film screens in full at the same time.

La La Land writer and Director Damien Chazelle says, “For me, one of the most thrilling and fulfilling parts of making La La Land was scoring the film to a live orchestra: a hundred phenomenal local musicians playing in real-time to the Technicolor images, bringing Justin’s compositions to vivid life.”

La La Land‘s tale of a jazz musician struggling to make ends meet has already won it six Oscars. The film’s two Sydney shows will come after ‘La La Land: In Concert’ makes its worldwide debut at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl in May.
