The hit play Harry Potter And The Cursed Child is finally coming to Australia in 2019.
The show’s producers announced today that the production will make its way to Melbourne’s Princess Theatre for an exclusive run of shows in early 2019, based around the original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany.
Harry Potter And The Cursed Child is the eighth Harry Potter story and the first to be presented on stage. It tells the story of Potter as a husband and father of three, who works at the Ministry Of Magic while his youngest son Albus struggles with the weight of his family’s legacy.
The award-winning play has won 22 major UK theatre awards since it opened in London in July 2016, and is set to make its Broadway premiere in April 2018.
Performance dates and ticketing details for the production’s Melbourne shows are yet to be announced, but producers say they’re coming “soon”. Meanwhile, ‘Harry Potter & The Prisoner Of Azkaban’ is coming to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s concert series in 2018.
