If you can see this Interstate 405 road sign from your backyard, immediately stop reading and get the hell out of there.

According to Yahoo! News, California firefighters are currently battling three different fires near Los Angeles that have forced the evacuations of thousands of people from their homes. Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency and promised to attack each blaze with “all we’ve got.”

In Ventura County alone, the “Thomas Fire” has already destroyed more than 150 structures, and officials suspect that the number of homes lost to the blaze will be in the hundreds. Officials said each fire has been tough to battle with some of the Santa Ana wind gusts exceeding 60 m.p.h., and they’re all strong enough that they are literally “jumping highways.”

The fires have now moved so close to Los Angeles that residents in Bel-Air are being forced from their homes, and the world-renowned Getty Center has closed its doors “to protect its collection from smoke.”

Now if those words alone haven’t painted a picture of just how dire things are for residents in and around Los Angeles, well, this commuter’s ride to work along Interstate 405 near the Getty Center this morning should do the trick.

Thoughts and prayers go out to all living in or near Los Angeles. Stay safe, and best of luck, guys.
