Remember Dangerous Minds? That awesome movie that featured Michelle Pfeiffer in a leather jacket trying to get a bunch of inner-city kids to learn? Well even if you don’t remember that movie I’m sure you remember Coolio’s song “Gangsta’s Paradise.” Well, one Jeopardy! contestant named Nick remembers the song, just doesn’t remember how to exactly pronounce it.
Host Alex Trebeck ask the contestants this question:
“A song by Coolio from Dangerous Minds goes back in time to become a 1667 John Milton Classic.”
And here is what Nick answers”
Let Nick’s mistake be a lesson to us all. In 2018, you gotta keep it gangsta at all times. Never Gangster #Jeopardy pic.twitter.com/NMO7QsAfyI

So this poor dude lost cash because he said “gangster” and now “gangsta.” Just look at this face:

And here’s what Jeopardy! had to say:
Official @Jeopardy statement ….”gangsta” and “gangster” are listed separately in the Oxford English Dictionary, each with its own unique definition.” Nick changed not only the song’s title, but also its meaning – making his response unacceptable.”https://t.co/VQVDvuS6aS

And Twitter was loving everything about this clip:
“Nick, our judges have decided we need to deduct you points for not being street enough.”

Dammit, this just made me shoot coffee out my nose. *&%$@

I’m sorry, the judges say that face had you ROLLIN’ not ROLLING.

The hard R is ALWAYS the wrong R.

Man I don’t know what’s funnier…nick pronouncing it “gangsters” paradise or Alex Trebek deducting money and correcting him him for not calling it gangstas paradise. That’s tv gold if you ask me

Nick needs to update his street lingo.
