I get that peacocks can’t fly very far so jumping on a plane would be much more efficient and timely for them, but this is utterly ridiculous.
According to Fox News, a woman recently tried to bring her emotional support peacock (which, yes, they are apparently a real thing) aboard a United Airlines flight at Newark Liberty International Airport, but the United employees thankfully told her and her bird to take a fucking hike.
To be fair, ma’am, this wasn’t New York. It was Jersey, but you can’t do that shit there either.
Despite the fact that the woman pleaded with United officials to let her emotional support bird on the plane because she had purchased an extra ticket for it, they decided to go with common sense this time around and not allow her or her peacock onboard.
It’s amazing that the United employees at Newark Liberty International even had to deal with this, as United told the woman on “three separate occasions” that she couldn’t bring her bird on the plane.
“This animal did not meet guidelines for a number of reasons, including its weight and size,” United said in a statement. “We explained this to the customers on three separate occasions before they arrived at the airport.
Kudos to United for making the right choice for once, and congratulations to whoever was supposed to sit next to that woman and her peacock. It must have been nice to have the entire row to yourself instead of getting crapped on or pecked by a bird at 30,000 feet.
