Jessica Simpson turned down an invitation to meet with President Bush at the gala fund-raiser for the National Republican Congressional Committee. Simpson, who was concerned she might politicize her favorite charity, Operation Smile, has plans to visit Washington today to lobby Congress on behalf of the charity, a non-profit organization that offers free plastic surgery to disadvantaged children with facial deformities, specifically, cleft palates.
I’m sure President Bush was pacing the entire night waiting for Jessica Simpson to show up. He has several hundred horses on his ranch already, but he’s probably never seen one with blonde hair extensions and D-cups. I don’t see how twirling your hair and wiggling your tongue at your dad in front of a bunch of Congressmen is going to help raise awareness for deformed kids, but I’m sure the kids will appreciate it.
