Roll up, roll up, as it’s time for some free games! Free Play is here and ready to provide top-tier gaming experiences for the low price of absolutely nothing! Allow me to divulge details on the latest and greatest free-to-play games out there, spanning across many different platforms. Here we go!
Paladins: Champions of the Realm (Nintendo Switch)
Paladins: Champions of the Realm has been available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One for a while now. This free-to-play team-based shooter shares a lot of similarities to the phenomenon that is Overwatch, except that it doesn’t cost anything to play. Now owners of the Nintendo Switch can dive into the F2P action.
Here’s hoping the Paladins spin-off Realm Royale also comes to Nintendo Switch, as that unique take on the battle royale genre is excellent fun, and should be able to run on the Switch’s hardware. For now, though, give Paladins: Champions of the Realm a go!
The Walking Dead: Our World (iPhone, Android)
Following a bit of rocky start, with stability issues forcing me to leave this off last week’s list, The Walking Dead: Our World is now working almost perfectly, and I’m personally addicted to logging in and headshotting zombies in my local area. Our World takes what makes Pokemon Go so great, but also adds in a few unique features and excellent group/clan support, and is definitely worth a download.
Our World is available for both iPhone and Android, running very well on both a Pixel 2 and iPhone 8 Plus (the devices I tested).
Black Squad (PC)
Though it’s been a year since Black Squad launched on Steam Early Access, the game is now in a much more polished state and well worth any shooter fan’s time. What’s more, to celebrate the anniversary, a free package is currently available to collect, in addition to the other four free Early Access weapon bundles.
If you’re a PC shooter fan, who can appreciate a Steam Early Access game that is going through testing, then get Black Squad downloaded.
Odysseus Kosmos and his Robot Quest: Episode 1 (PC)
Completing our list for this week is Odysseus Kosmos and his Robot Quest: Episode 1! What a title that is! Point and click your way through this sci-fi adventure. It’s a witty take on the classic genre, as players try to survive space and restore the ship.
The first episode is completely free to trial, and if you do like it, the rest of the season is currently discounted at 40% off the original price. Give it a look here.
