For movie fans, one of the most exciting aspects of Super Bowl Sunday is all of the new trailers that we are gifted with. Now that Super Bowl LVI is officially in the books (go Rams!), we have the pleasure of digging into some of the best and worst trailers that debuted during the big game this year. From the first trailer for Amazon’s Lord of the Rings to Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness there was a lot to take in. With that in mind, here are the best and worst of this year’s Super Bowl trailers.

Dr. Strange & The Multiverse of Madness
Leave it to Sam Rami to remind us what a real movie looks like. Not only does this trailer for The Multiverse of Madness put just about every other MCU trailer to shame, but it is filled with enough cameos to make even casual Marvel fans go ga-ga. At the very least, the presence of Patrick Stewart will force hardcore fans to confront their mortality.
Moon Knight
Although we saw the first trailer for Moon Knight a few weeks back, this big game spot features some new footage for us to gawk over. As arguably the most intriguing Disney+ show yet, Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight looks totally badass. Let’s just hope that it lives up to the hype.
Jordan Peele’s Nope
Jordan Peele, the master of modern horror, is back again with another ominous trailer for his latest film, Nope. While the first trailer for his follow-up to Us is intentionally ambiguous, it seems that Peele might be tackling some sort of alien invasion this time around. If anything, the first trailer for Nope has us saying… yup.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
The 2020 adaptation of Sonic the Hedgehog was a surprisingly entertaining movie, which makes us all the more excited for a beefed-up sequel. The big game spot for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 features a larger scale, while also teasing an epic battle between Sonic & Knuckles. If Idris Elba’s preparation for his role as Knuckles is any indication, Sonic 2 might irreparably break people’s brains.
The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power
Aside from the fact that Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series is essentially a vanity project for real-life supervillain Jeff Bezos, it also looks to be the most expensive cosplay ever conceived. While the first trailer for The Rings of Power is filled with Magic and Monsters, the only mystery here is how the racism in the LOTR community stayed quiet for so long. Long live woke Middle Earth!
Jurassic World: Dominion
Speaking of terrible reunions, the big game also featured a spot for Jurassic World: Dominion. While the trailer does prove the theory that it’s possible for the original cast members to look hotter than ever, this trailer doesn’t really do them justice. Even though this spot is basically a truncated version of the full-length trailer, it forces us to ask the question: can we just get a nature documentary without any human characters? Might be better than watching Chris Pratt bumble about for two hours.
