Donald Trump’s Campaign Says It Won’t Talk About Couch ‘Fetish’ After JD Vance Meme

Donald Trump‘s campaign has finally acknowledged the JD Vance couch story, saying that it “won’t talk about” the meme or the “weird fetish” Kamala Harris’ campaign “is into.” The Trump campaign’s spokesman Steven Cheung addressed the viral story, which is being widely used to poke fun at Vance.

The story, which began in a now-deleted viral tweet, baselessly alleges that Vance detailed an intimate relationship with a couch in his memoir. In response, Cheung said that Donald Trump’s campaign won’t talk about “non-sensical things.'”

“It has been 17 days since Kamala Harris replaced her mentor Crooked Joe Biden and she has refused to engage with the press or participate in interviews,” Cheung wrote in a statement. “It sounds like the Kamala-Walz campaign is scared of talking about their liberal records or policies, instead talking about non-sensical things like couches and coconuts.

“We’re not going to talk about couches or coconuts or whatever weird fetish KamalaHQ is into. When we have something to say, we’ll say loud and clear. If Kamala is a coward, we’ll call her a coward. If Tim Walz is a liar, we’ll call him a liar.”

The JD Vance rumor began when X (formerly Twitter) user @rickrudescalves posted a doctored “excerpt” allegedly from JD Vance’s memoir. The excerpt contained the story that Vance had intimate relations with a couch. It wasn’t long before the doctored image spread, and even Harris’ VP pick Tim Walz poked fun at it.

During Tim Walz’s speech at a rally this week, the Governor of Minnesota said that he couldn’t wait to debate Vance, but only if “he’s willing to get off the couch and show up.”

Walz’s comments made many question if the Trump campaign would clear up the rumors. Cheung is the first member of the campaign to address them, but Vance has yet to comment.
