Foo Fighters To Donate to Kamala Harris After Donald Trump Used Their Song

The Foo Fighters have spoken out and made it clear that they did not permit the Donald Trump campaign to use their “My Hero” song at a rally. The rock band replied to an X (formerly Twitter) user’s tweet to state that they had not given permission.

However, they continued to face the heat as reports have revealed that Trump’s campaign had a license to play the Foo Fighters song. In the latest turn of events, the band has shared that they will donate the royalties to Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign.

Donald Trump’s rally song ‘My Hero’ benefits Kamala Harris’ campaign

USA Today reported that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. joined Trump at the rally in Glendale, Arizona, after suspending his presidential campaign. The Foo Fighters song “My Hero” was played as Kennedy walked out onstage and greeted Trump as they shook hands. Following that, an X (formerly Twitter) user asked the band if they had permitted the campaign to play the song. The Foo Fighters denied that they had given permission and shared a screenshot of the response on their X page.

However, a Trump campaign spokesperson told The Independent that they had a license to play the song. The outlet reportedly saw the documents that appeared to confirm this. A Foo Fighters spokesperson also told the outlet that the band “were not asked permission.” The statement noted that the band “would not have granted it” if they had been asked. The spokesperson added that the band is taking “appropriate actions” against the Trump campaign.

A representative for the band revealed to USA Today, “Any royalties received as a result of this use will be donated.” It will go to the presidential campaign by Vice President Kamala Harris. Earlier this month, Celine Dion’s team slammed the Trump campaign for using one of her songs at a rally. The management team called them out for the “unauthorized usage” of “My Heart Will Go On” at a rally in Montana.

The latest drama surrounding the Foo Fighters continues to draw attention and commentary across the interent.
