Namco Bandai has announced through Facebook that Tales of Xillia 2 will be making a trip across the ocean to North America and Europe sometime during 2014. PlayStation 3 is the only confirmed platform at the moment, although others aren’t ruled out.
ToX2 released in Japan last year and was met with acclaim, with many fans considering it an improvement from the original Tales of Xillia. The confirmation of such a major release on the aging PS3 in 2014 once again shows Sony’s commitment to driving a long life cycle as with its previous platforms.
Much of the thanks should be directed at consumers who purchased Tales of Graces f, which was the series’ first major localization for the West. Around a third of its 800,000 confirmed sales were owed to games in North America and Europe who were itching for their JRPG fix.
