Violent Soho has released the first taste from their upcoming third studio album, Hungry Ghost, in the form on a new single, ‘In The Aisle’.
The Brisbane grunge, rock band came to prominence behind the 2010 single ‘Jesus Stole My Girlfriend’ and opted to spend much of the past couple of years since touring internationally. A label change to I OH YOU in late 2011 and recording time at Brisbane’s The Shed studio with noted producer Bruyce Moorhead has resulted in an album three years in the making.
It’s the album “Violent Soho needed to make,” says the band. “[It’s about] the concept of the outsider, people who are a little bizarre and how they view the world.”
Hungry Ghost is to be released on September 6, but a preview of the new album can be heard during a three-stop East Coast August road trip.

Former Magic Dirt member Adalita also has a new album in the works.
In collaboration with Magic Dirt producer Lindsay Gravina, the opening single is ‘All Day Venus’ and the drum and guitar heavy tune is “a good indication of how the rest of the album is going to sound,” says Adalita. “Louder, basically.”
Like Violent Soho, Adalita will be out on a small East Coast road test in early August ahead of the release of the new album later this year.
