A new video by PlayStation Access answers 10 of the most frequently asked questions regarding the PS4, the first of which is how many friends you can have. While on the PS3’s PSN you could only have 100, on the PS4 you can have a staggering 2,000. Good luck remembering who all of them are. For gamers who like to add everyone they meet it becomes immediately clear that the PS3’s 100 simply isn’t enough. I know I have to regularly trim my friends list by filtering for those who are inactive or I can’t identify. Innocent friends have been eradicated in the process.
In addition, it’s been confirmed that you will be able to Party Chat on the PS4 for free, no PS Plus subscription will be required. Unfortunately, a subscription is still needed to enjoy many of the console’s online features, a fact that was subtly announced during Sony’s E3 press conference.
Lastly, your current avatar and username will transfer over to the newly designed PSN making the transition to next-gen hassle-free.
