We already know Grand Theft Auto 5′s world is huge, but it’s what you do with that space that counts. Thankfully, GTA 5 isn’t letting its potential go to waste.
Speaking to 3DJuegos, Rockstar North director Leslie Benzies confirmed that there will be hundreds of missions in Grand Theft Auto Online. He said (translated from Spanish):
I think they are about 700 missions at this time. We hope you have 500 always available, and are renewed continuously. You can also go to the Rockstar Social Club and download more missions. So you can connect and download any player missions to populate your world online, both from friends and from other users.
To give you an idea of how significant 700 missions is, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas had 105 missions and lasted many people over 100 hours. Now, these missions Leslie is talking about are only for online and aren’t as complex, but even then that’s an incredible number, especially when you consider they are separate from the campaign. If you somehow manage to eat your way through all the game’s missions, you can always make some of your own.
GTA Online is turning out to be a compelling reason to get GTA 5, never mind the game’s impressive campaign.
