So I’ve been playing FIFA 14 for a few days now and while I’m enjoying it, there are still a number of features that I was hoping would make their way into the series this year but are unfortunately absent. But there’s always next year, isn’t there? Here are 5 things I want to see make their way into the inevitable FIFA 15:
5 Things We Want to See in FIFA 15
1. The return of mini leagues/tournaments
Last year EA dropped mini leagues/tournaments from FIFA and I have no idea why. Their inclusion has always seemed like a no-brainer considering how easy they make it to set up both online and offline competitions with friends, but for some reason we now only have offline friendlies and online season matches in which to go one-on-one with our buddies. I hoped that FIFA 14 would mark their return, but as they are curiously absent once again, it looks like I'll have to hold out hope that they'll reappear in FIFA 15 .
2. Upgradeable Pro Clubs teammates
The career mode of EA's FIFA Street reboot featured teammates that you could level up throughout the game, a system which would work great if employed in FIFA 15 's Pro Clubs mode. As your AI teammates are always quite hit and miss, being able to upgrade their stats as you progress through the divisions would be a welcome addition to the series, as would being given the ability to customise their names, appearance and attributes.
3. Ultimate Team cards that improve as you play them
FIFA 14 sees Ultimate Team cards' 'loyalty' improve the more that you play them in games, which improves their chemistry with the rest of the team. I think FIFA 15 should go one step further, though, and have the stats of the cards improve similarly to the way your Pro's stats improve. While there should obviously be a level cap on each individual player so teams aren't running around with 99 rated stars, it would add a new element to the mode that would see smart club owners buying average rated cards, upgrading them and then selling them for a tidy profit.
4. Multiplayer career mode
This may be a little too much to ask, but a multiplayer career mode in FIFA 15 would certainly be a fun addition. While playing the managerial mode with your friends in the vein of the Football Manager series would perhaps prove too much of a difficult task for EA to pull off, joining teams with your friends and then playing through a season, whether it be for the same or different clubs, is an intriguing possibility.
5. Be a Pro accomplishments that don't vanish if the other team quits
Building up your Pro is an arduous task, largely because if your opposing team quits your Pro Clubs match then any progress you've made towards upgrading him is erased. This makes it especially difficult to work towards the shooting accomplishments, as scoring multiple goals in a match will often lead to your opponents opting out before the final whistle, renderering your efforts useless.
