The Geek & Sundry Network will be releasing its second episode of the popular Arcade Arms show tomorrow. This time around Final Fantasy‘s legendary Gae Bolg, or “spear of mortal pain” will take center stage. As you might be able to tell by its name, this weapon is not to be reckoned with. Standing over six feet tall, this weapon has made several appearances in the franchise, originally as Kimahri’s weapon in Final Fantasy X and most recently as the Dragoon Relic in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Let’s put it this way. This powerful and incredibly hard to obtain weapon is used to combat thick-scaled fire-breathing dragons. No armor stands a chance against a swing from the Gae Bolg.
Host Nika Harper will explore Gae Bolg’s design history with special guests in this second episode. This time around, Square Enix’s Matt Hilton will join the crew before a real-life Gae Bolg is crafted by a forge master and tested for its destructive capabilities. You don’t want to miss seeing a trained knight swing around a one of a king polearm, do you?
On May 13th Arcade Arms premiered to an audience of over 125,000 viewers. Its first episode, aptly titled The Mace of Molag Bal, was centered around one of The Elder Scrolls‘ most powerful weapons.
