The Preatures are back with brand new music and an upcoming Australian national tour.
Having returned from spots at SXSW, Coachella and a European tour already this year, The Preatures dropped by Triple J radio on Thursday to premier the first taste of the breakout Sydney band’s highly anticipated debut album.
The five-piece raced to the forefront of the Australian music scene with 2013’s hit single ‘Is This How You Feel?’ and have followed it up with the unannounced new track ‘Two Tone Melody’.
The band put together the single while staying with Aussie rocker Simon Day of Ratcat.
“I liked the way the lyrics and melody fit together,” singer Isabella Manfredi said. “It felt effortless which is really hard to fabricate. The rest of it came pretty easily after that. I wrote it about being in love. It’s a love song.”
“I think this track is a good introduction to the record – it’s not upbeat, it’s not a heavy hitting song but it’s really beautiful, “guitarist Jack Moffitt said of ‘Two Tone Melody’ on Triple J. “I only wanna make beautiful music so I hope that other people think it’s beautiful too.”
The Preatures are set to launch a July national tour- hitting Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth- but not before more dates in the US next week and appearances at famed festivals Bonnaroo and Glastonbury.
