What’s better than kicking it on a rooftop for a Sunday Funday in LA? Well, if the roof is on top of the Petersen Automotive Museum, and Wildcat! Wildcat! is performing, I would say your Funday is a little bit more than a cut above the rest.
As per usual, KCRW put on an amazing event this weekend, complete with a fully stocked bar, a serious spread, and an audience that was ready to soak up tunes like a garden of thirsty sponges. It was a day to relax, enjoy the weather, and see some awesome music.
A few minutes after the clock struck four, the three-piece from Los Angeles walked up on stage and took their respective positions – Jesse Taylor picked up his bass, Michael Wilson stepped in front of his keyboard, and Jesse Carmichael sat down behind the drums. It didn’t take very long after that for the space in front of the stage to be packed shoulder to shoulder, and for the high top tables around the perimeter to become completely empty. This crowd was ready to dig in!
Even though the set was short, they managed to play what everyone was hoping to hear. They did Garden Grays, a first ever live version of Hero, and of course, the crowd favorite – Mr Quiche. Long story short, Wildcat! Wildcat! put on an awesome show, and I’m sure this isn’t the last we will see of them.
