Coldrain Added To Soundwave 2015 Lineup

Coldrain are the latest act to be confirmed for the Soundwave 2015 lineup. The announcement, made via Music Feeds, makes the Japanese metalcore outfit the latest band to be added to a roster that already features Melbourne bands Ne Obliviscaris and Confession.

Fans had long been pestering Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah about the Nagoya-based group, who unveiled their latest full-length effort, The Revelation, last year. The band’s prolific output and English lyrics sung by half-American vocalist Masato have seen them develop a following at home and abroad.

Coldrain’s studio output has garnered acclaim for the band’s ability to combine elements from multiple genres. Taking inspiration from heavy metal, metalcore, punk and pop, the band’s music is noted for its epic and melodic sound, catchy choruses and brutal breakdowns.

On stage, Coldrain have received rave reviews for Masato’s showmanship and ability to command an audience as well as the band’s skilled musicianship. Having played stages across Japan and Europe, Coldrain are used to converting newcomers, ensuring everyone in the crowd has a good and sweaty time.

Just in time for the announcement, The Revelation will finally receive an Australian release later this week. The album will drop this Friday, 8th August as an exclusive 16-track Australian Deluxe Edition.

Coldrain is the first act to be announced as part of Music Feeds’ Soundwave 2015 First Wave, which will see five Soundwave bands announced over five days this week. With the festival’s new two-day format and four headliners set for the lineup, it’s sure to be an interesting and exciting week.
