The Sims 4 has been met with a lukewarm reception from fans of the series. Featuring a notable lack of content, the latest entries in EA Maxis’ life simulation series even took out some Sims staples such as swimming pools and toddlers. Well, EA is now looking to right that wrong, revealing today that it plans to release free content for The Sims 4 until the end of the year.
The first batch of content features ghosts, and they have a much bigger impact upon gameplay this time around. Whereas before ghosts would only scare or intrigue your Sims, now they are fully playable characters who can form relationships, get married and even have jobs. They can also prove to be a big helping hand around your household, performing repairs automatically using their “ghostly repair” ability and, if they have the “neat” trait, cleaning up after your Sims when they’ve all gone to sleep.
You can watch the ghosts in action in the above trailer and yes, it does feature some paranormal WooHoo.
The ghosts will be available in-game starting from today (October 1st) alongside Star Wars themed costumes. EA will also be implementing more free features over the next few months, including pools in November and new career paths/rewards in December.
