Next year, DC Comics is doing a cross-country move from New York to Burbank and suspending all of their superhero titles while they make the transition. To fill the two month gap, the nine week Convergence event will revive several characters who haven’t been seen since Flashpoint.
The first two weeks of Convergence tie-miniseries focused on the DC Universe as it existed right before Flashpoint and a version of DC that resembled the comics that were published in the ‘90s. For the third week of Convergence miniseries, DC is revisiting the 1980s with some of the classic pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths incarnations of their greatest superheroes.
Veteran comic writers Len Wein and Marv Wolfman return to their signature characters in Swamp Thing and New Teen Titans, respectively. Wolfman is also writing the Adventures of Superman two issue miniseries that will apparently tie into Crisis as well.
All ten of these two issue miniseries were unveiled on IGN and Nerdist. The release date is Wednesday, April 22. Given the trends, don’t be surprised if the fourth week of Convergence miniseries resemble DC’s comics from the ‘70s and ‘60s. The full list of Convergence week 3 titles is reprinted below.
