The next entry in the Fast & Furious franchise is just around the corner, and instead of getting a full video game adaptation it’ll be merged with the Forza franchise in an enticing package.
Arriving on March 27th is a Fast & Furious expansion pack for Forza Horizon 2, Microsoft announced today. Film-influenced vehicles and events will find their way to the game, in addition to characters from the upcoming film, including Tej Parker and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges who will interact with the player through cutscenes. A trailer for the expansion can be seen above.
Xbox Head Phil Spencer had the following to share about the announcement:
This is a great way to bring Forza players into the world of Fast & Furious, and in Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious, every fan will get a chance to go wheels-first into the exciting action of the Fast & Furious franchise.
The best part is you don’t even need to own a copy of Forza Horizon 2 to play the expansion. It’ll be standalone for Xbox One and Xbox 360, although based on Forza Horizon 2‘s engine. Additionally, it’ll be free to download until April 10th as a promotion of the release of Furious 7 (April 3rd). After then, it’ll cost $10.
