Blur performed two brand new tracks from their upcoming album The Magic Whip on Later… with Jools Holland, marking the first time that the band has played the tracks in front of a live audience.

Taking to the stage in the first episode of the live music show’s new season, Blur unveiled ‘I Broadcast’ and ‘Ong Ong’, two particularly upbeat cuts from their comeback LP. Both tracks seem to represent a more energetic, festival-oriented approach from the iconic band, who are set to do the rounds this year in order to promote The Magic Whip. Considering they’re all pushing 50, I hope they’ve still got it in them.

The Magic Whip is set to be released on April 27th, marking their first LP release since Think Tank in 2003. Blur are set to headline a number of festivals this year, including the UK’s British Summer Time and Isle of Wight festivals, and Benicassim festival in Spain.
