The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television announced its Golden Screen Award nominations, and some of the country’s biggest shows and Canadian-made films will be vying for the honours.
For TV Drama, the nominees are Rookie Blue, Saving Hope, The Book of Negroes, Corner Gas: The Movie, and Murdoch Mysteries. Meanwhile, in the reality TV category, the dragons of Dragons’ Den are vying with Big Brother Canada, Masterchef Canada, Canada’s Smartest Person, and The Amazing Race Canada.
“The Academy’s Golden Screen Awards for TV celebrate what people choose to watch,” said Academy Chair Martin Katz in an official press release. “They commend the Canadian television shows that Canadians love the most. Congratulations to all the finalists.”
The Golden Screen Awards will be presented during the Canadian Screen Awards, which will air on Sunday, March 13th and will be hosted by Canadian funnyman Norm Macdonald.
