Very little is known about David Lynch and Mark Frost’s Showtime revival of Twin Peaks, which is currently filming. But there are reportedly two major additions to the cast.
Deadline is reporting that Naomi Watts and Tom Sizemore have signed on to appear in Twin Peaks, but details about their roles are not currently forthcoming. Watts’ first breakout feature film role was in Lynch’s Mulholland Drive before landing parts in The Ring, The Impossible, and the 2005 remake of King Kong. Sizemore is best known for his roles in True Romance, Natural Born Killers, Strange Days, Heat, Saving Private Ryan, and Black Hawk Down.
Watts and Sizemore aren’t the only new additions to the cast. Previous reports have indicated that Laura Dern, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Amanda Seyfried also have major roles in the Twin Peaks revival. Even Lynch is reportedly reprising his minor role from the TV series: FBI Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole.

The original Twin Peaks series ended in a cliffhanger with Kyle MacLachlan’s FBI Agent Dale Cooper possessed by the demonic Bob. So far, MacLachlan is the only original cast member “officially” announced to reprise his role, but Sherilyn Fenn, Miguel Ferrer, and Sheryl Lee are said to be among the other original castmates moving back to Twin Peaks.
Showtime has previously indicated that the episode count for the Twin Peaks revival won’t be finalized until Lynch finishes editing them. However, the new Twin Peaks episodes are still on course to premiere in 2017.
