As Donald Trump‘s seemingly unstoppable success in the race to become the Republican nominee for President continues unabated, SNL have taken aim at Trump and his policies with a Racists For Trump skit.
Purporting to show us what “real Americans” are saying about Donald Trump, the skit opens like a stock standard campaign ad, with some (all white) people talking to camera about why they like Donald Trump. The big reveal though is that they are all racists.
Interestingly, Trump was a guest SNL host last November, as the fourth presidential candidate ever to host an episode of the show during a presidential campaign.
The skit is particularly poignant as the seemingly racists rhetoric in Trump’s campaign has gone into overdrive in recent weeks. First when he refused to denounce former KKK head David Duke’s endorsement of his candidacy, claiming ignorance of Duke and the KKK.
That was just a warm up though, as, in a bizarre move, he also asked supporters to raise their right hand in the air in support of him. Sound familiar?
