Ibrahimovic Manchester United Transfer “Delayed Until Next Month”

The Ibrahimovic Manchester United transfer saga continues as the official announcement has reportedly been delayed by another month, due to the Swedish striker wanting to collect a bonus from former club PSG.

Though many expected Ibrahimovic to announce his move to Manchester United yesterday during the unveiling of his new sportswear line, he instead continued to tease the press and would neither confirm nor deny the transfer to Old Trafford. According to a report from The Telegraph, this is a result of the striker waiting to collect a sizable loyalty bonus from PSG, which he can only obtain if does not sign for another club until next month and remains under his PSG contract.

The amount of money contained in the bonus has not been revealed, though it must be a considerable amount if the Swedish international is willing to delay putting pen to paper on a contract rumoured to be worth £220,000 per week. If Ibrahimovic is to join Manchester United, which seems highly likely at this point, then he would be working alongside the club’s new manager Jose Mourinho for the first time since 2009, when both were a part of Inter Milan.

Manchester United fans are growing increasingly frustrated with the will he/won’t he Ibrahimovic transfer debate. After hinting that he would make the announcement yesterday, he instead focused upon his new A-Z sportswear line, telling reporters to be “patient.”

During the press conference unveiling the new clothing range, Ibrahimovic said: “There is no confirmation. No saying ‘yes’. You will have to be patient with me.”

Addressing the press, he continued: “You are a journalist, no? I want you to keep wondering where I will go, and keep making stories, because I enjoy it while the stories go out. When I feel tired, I will let you know where my next destination is.”

If this new report is to be believed, then it seems like we’ll be waiting for a little while longer.
