These Two Moose Ended Up Completely Frozen In Ice During A Fight

Damn, nature, you seriously have no mercy.

Nature is rough. Hell, ask this penguin who caught his lady with another penguin how rough it is. You can even ask the idiot who tried to chill with an alligator and absolutely failed. But this story right here is just crazy, and it shows you that your life is nothing compared to how brutal Mother Nature is.

Brad Webster, a teacher from Unalakleet, Alaska, was hiking with a friend when they came across something that not many hikers ever do: Two moose in the middle of a fight. Oh, but there was one problem: They were both entombed in ice, and obviously dead.

Let’s first check it out below thanks to Jeff Erickson, a friend of Webster who posted it on his Facebook.

Savage stuff here, folks.

“We were both kind of in awe,” Webster told The Washington Post. “I’ve heard of other animals this had happened to, but I’ve never seen anything like this.”

According to Kris Hundertmark, the chair of the biology and wildlife department at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, moose fight for a female by clashing their antlers. And he believes that these two moose were fighting for a gal or (territory) when they fell in the waters and drowned.

It’s always a woman’s fault, am I right?

“It was such a surreal sight – so serene and quiet, but a stark vision of how brutally harsh life can be,” added Webster.

Webster and his pal did eventually return to take the heads of the moose as trophies, and the bodies will be used as possible food for the sled dogs.

And that’s life in Alaska.
