When you lose your clothes and flop around naked with your partner, it’s supposed to be a good time. This fun activity shouldn’t end up with someone’s penis almost getting ripped off. Well, that’s exactly what happened to the boyfriend of a 50-year-old British woman.
After giving birth to her only child, Theresa Bartram suffered from something called stress incontinence, which is a condition that causes one to urinate on themselves. This of course left Bartram insecure about having sex.

Bartram’s insecurity led her to go seven years without sex, that is until she went under the knife to fix her issue. How was the issue fixed? By lifting her prolapsed bladder with a plastic mesh sling called a transvaginal tape. Yep, a plastic mesh. Hot. Well, it wasn’t so hot when her new vagina almost destroyed her boyfriend’s penis.
Here’s how Bartram herself describes the incident:
“It was like it had grown teeth. His willy was bright red and spouting blood. There was a big red stain spreading between us on the sheets. After that, he was scared of my lady garden and approached it as if it was a Venus flytrap and he was a bluebottle (fly).”

Holy hell, that wording is brilliant.
Of course the couple broke up a few months later, and Bartham stopped having sex, eventually dealing with serious health problems. Not only did Bartham have her gallbladder removed, but in 2015 that plastic mesh was finally also removed because it had breached her vaginal wall and caused an abscess that turned septic.
Here’s Bartham once again:
“It felt like razor-sharp teeth, hence why it had ripped a chunk from my boyfriend’s willy..
I was told this simple procedure would cure my incontinence and give me more confidence on the bedroom, but it has ruined my life.
It made my vagina deadly and forced me into a life of celibacy. It could have killed me. I’m pleased the mesh is gone but it has left my body and my vagina a total mess. I wear padding all the time and sleep on incontinence sheets.”
Bartham has clearly had it rough, but here’s hoping she can move forward and somehow live a normal life with her now non-deadly vagina.
