Staff at Melbourne airport were left baffled last Saturday when a passenger approached the check-in desk with nothing but a single can of beer.
As UniLad reports the bloke, known only as Dean, successfully convinced the staff on the ground to check in a single Emu Export tinnie on QF777, with the beer even getting its own luggage tag.

“One of my mates works at the airport and he and I were wondering what I could check as luggage and get away with – a single deodorant can was another idea – but the export can was way more iconic so I went with that,” said Dean. “Honestly the thought of a single can of export making its way down the baggage carousel was too good to pass up so I thought I’d give it a whirl.”
The absolute legend also admitted that he had attempted to check in the can flying out of Perth in the first instance but waited too late, so he kept it for the duration of his holiday with the pure and beautiful intention of checking it in on his home-bound flight.
Dean witnessed the can taken away on the conveyor belt, and when he get to the other end sure enough there it was on the baggage collection belt.
“Sure enough there she was, alone on the carousel proudly making her way around. And there I was in my flanno and RMs to greet her. It was perfection.”
Truly incredible stuff. Check out a clip of the triumphant moment the beer turned up at the other end, below.
