I can understand hunting for food and for necessity, but hunting simply to take your ‘trophy’ home to show all of your hunting buddies is pretty pathetic. That’s why, as we’ve said before, it’s tough feeling bad for people who run into trouble while trying to hunt for fun. And one poacher in South Africa was trying to do just that, but he failed.
Police have revealed that a suspected poacher was mauled to death and eaten by a pride of lions. Police add that there was little left of the victim’s body after he was attacked. Wow.
“It seems the victim was poaching in the game park when he was attacked and killed by lions,” Limpopo police spokesman Moatshe Ngoepe told AFP. “They ate his body, nearly all of it, and just left his head and some remains.”
Damn, Moatshe, a tad graphic.
It is also said a loaded hunting rifle was found near the victim’s body. Police do not know the victim’s identity yet and are working to gather that information. And I hate to say it, but this is clearly karma and clearly a case of the hunter becoming the hunted. Now if similar fates can happen to other poachers perhaps this sick activity would stop.
