Man Declared Dead Wakes Up Just Before Doctor Cuts Him Open

Sometimes all it takes is a good night’s sleep in a morgue to get some life back into you.

According to the Daily Mail, an Indian man who was recently involved in a serious car crash was first pronounced brain dead and then medically dead by doctors at Chhindwara District Hospital in Nagpur.

Of course, if that would have actually been the case, then we wouldn’t be running a story on it.

That’s right, kids. Himanshu Bharadwaj is actually alive, but he was declared dead by Dr. Gedam because his “respiration was dysfunctional and his pulse was also missing.” So Bharadwaj was sent to the morgue overnight and was readied for an autopsy the next day.

That’s when he allegedly “grabbed a sweeper as a means of showing he was still alive.”

“His respiratory organs began responding this morning,” Dr. Gedam said. “At times, in brain dead patients, the heart and the respiratory system stop functioning transiently, which seems to be the case here.”

Gedam said that Bharadwaj is still brain dead, but yeah, if I’m one of Bharadwaj’s family members, I don’t think it’s rude to ask for somebody else to make the call on that.
